DEMCO EnCouleurs matte medium can be used to thin acrylic, increase its transparency, make it more soft and fluid and improve its adherence. Of medium viscosity, the matte medium accentuates the matte rendering of acrylic colours to which it is mixed. It can also be used as a backrground or a fixative. It is opaque when wet and translucent when dry. Do not use as a glazing medium or as a final varnish.

Matte Medium contains environmentally friendly matting agents which creates a low sheen effect. Using Matte Medium is recommended over water alone as excessive use of water as a diluent decreases the strength of the acrylic film. By adding Matte Medium to the water, it increases the adhesion, flexibility, and durability of the paint film.
