Screen printing began as a commercial printing process that was later adopted by artists for its ability to create multiple images very quickly and onto a variety of surfaces such as paper, cloth, and even three-dimensional objects. The technique involves applying ink through a stencil created on a fabric mesh stretched tightly around a frame.
For this three-week class, students will have the opportunity to create a two-layer print on paper and a one-layer print on fabric, using their own hand drawn images.
