If you already have some experience with oil painting and are looking to take your skills to the next level, Exploring Oil Painting is the perfect opportunity. This class offers a dynamic and self-directed painting environment where you can choose your subject matter, and our experienced instructor is on hand to provide technical guidance and support. Whether you’ve previously completed our “Introduction to Oils” course or are just seeking a dedicated time and space to paint, this workshop is tailored to help you refine your technique and receive personalized feedback.

As per Hues Art Supply cancellation guidelines- if you cancel your registration up to 30 days prior to the beginning of the class, a full refund will be issued to you. 14 days prior to the beginning of the class, should you wish to cancel your registration – we will issue a full in-store credit that you may use for future classes or art materials. 5 days prior to the class, should you decide to cancel, we will issue an in-store credit for 50% of the cost of the class. After the five day deadline, no further refunds will be issued unless the class has been canceled by Hues Art Supply.
Aarin Rinas is an artist and craftsman based in Saskatoon. He was born and raised in Kansas City, MO, and after high school attended the Art Institute of Chicago (2000-2003). There his studies focused on figurative drawing and painting. In his current practice, he works in charcoal, oil paint, and pastels. In March 2020 Aarin was awarded an independent artists grant from Sk-arts. Over the last few years, he has shown his work around Saskatoon and in 2022 won the “Mayor’s Prize” at the Mann Art Gallery Winter Festival.

This heavy-weight mixed media paper is available in warm tan, cool gray and steel blue and is toned specifically for use with light and dark media. It also combines the characteristics of a watercolor paper and the finish of a drawing sheet, creating a paper that performs for all wet and dry media. It’s the perfect hybrid of two of our most loved papers: 400 Series Toned Sketch and 400 Series Mixed Media. Flip-over covers feature sheets that stay in the pad yet tear out cleanly.
