Hues Art Classes

Our experienced instructors are known for their generosity, knowledge, and willingness to help others. Beginners and intermediate artists are welcome. Programs cover a wide range of media such as watercolour, oil, acrylic, pastel, drawing, printmaking and Specialty topics include portrait, figure and landscape painting or drawing.

Jean Dudley has always drawn and painted and been involved with various art forms in one form or another. She worked strictly in oils for the past 20 years until picking up acrylic 5 years ago. She is presently a member of Artists’ Workshop which is a local group. They share studio time weekly and host an annual show and sale. Jean also organizes a Plein Air group throughout the summer which is open to the public. Jean is a lifelong learner who regularly participates in classes and workshops. Ann Donald has taught art in Saskatoon for over 20 years. She has been teaching art in an variety of spaces. Ann holds degrees related to creating and teaching art from Mount Alison University and Concordia University and an Art Academy in Enschede located in Holland. Ann has recently retired from teaching art and graphic design at Holy Cross High School. The supply list can be found HERE.

Carol has engaged in an active art practice for thirty years. She works exclusively with portrait and figuration. She holds an MFA from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. She earned a BFA in studio art and BA in psychology from the University of Saskatchewan.
She resides in Saskatoon SK and divides her time between personal practice and teaching art for the University of Saskatchewan Community Arts program and Hues Art Supply. The supply list can be found HERE.

Alison Montgomery is a Saskatoon artist who paints both en plein air and in studio using watercolour. Alison taught high school visual arts for 32 years in the Saskatoon Public School District. She studied at the University of Saskatchewan and graduated with a Bachelor of Education in 1984. She earned a major in Art and History and has completed her Masters in Adult Education and Lifelong Learning. Alison has had many solo shows and group exhibitions. Her work is represented in numerous corporate and private collections. The supply list can be found HERE.

Miranda immigrated to Canada from Australia. She earned a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Saskatchewan.
Miranda enjoys working in a wide variety of media from paper to steel. A foundation in drawing and a love of color are central to her work. She loves to share knowledge and skills. She believes creativity at all levels helps to empower us as individuals.
Miranda’s work is represented in public and private collections in Canada and internationally. She has been awarded several grants and artist residencies both in Canada and abroad.Miranda participated in an artist residency at the Saskatchewan Legislature Building in Regina for Centenary celebrations.
She is also a certified Iyengar International yoga instructor and interested in Nordic skiing; year-round cycling; and sub-arctic swimming. The supply list can be found here – mjones supply list -
Monday Open Studio D. Lindner

Degen Lindner is a practicing artist and teacher. Her works range from drawing and painting the figure to landscapes and abstracts. She has had her work commissioned and has participated in numerous individual and group shows. Degen earned a Master of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Education. She has taught through the Continuing and Distance Education Program at the University of Saskatchewan. She has been an instructor for the Mendel Art Gallery in Saskatoon and has taught for the Community Arts Program and the Emma Lake Workshops for many years. Degen has also had a lengthy association with the Emma Lake Artists’ Workshops. The suggested supply list can be found HERE.

Patrick Bulas is an artist who has lived in Saskatoon for over 20 years. He was born in Edmonton and he received both his BFA and MFA from the University of Alberta. He is the printmaking studio technician and sessional instructor at the University of Saskatchewan as well as a practicing printmaker. The supply list can be found HERE.

Aarin Rinas is an artist and craftsman based in Saskatoon. He was born and raised in Kansas City. He attended the Art Institute of Chicago. His studies focused on Figurative drawing and painting. Aarin was awarded an independent artists’ grant from Sask-Arts Board in March 2020. He has shown his work in Saskatoon and surrounding area. He won the ‘Mayor’s Prize’ at the Mann Gallery Winter Festival in Prince Albert in 2022. The supply list can be found HERE.
