This class runs on Wednesday evenings beginning January 17th to March 13th from 6.30 – 9.00 pm. (8 classes, no class on Feb 7th) If the class is full, you may phone us at 306 653 1900 to put your name on a wait list.
This course will teach students introductory techniques with ink, drawing and watercolour painting. We will review the use of brushes, pens & paper and study composition, design and colour theory. Students will work on a variety of weekly exercises and create finished artworks. Students are also encouraged to incorporate mixed media in their work through subject matter ranging from realistic to illustrative. Experienced artists are welcome to join the class.

Supplies:
Paint
Cadmium Yellow, Permanent, or Lemon Yellow Crimson Red, Cadmium Red, or Vermillion Red Cobalt or Cerulean Blue Cadmium or Permanent Green Raw Umber Burnt Sienna Black White
Optional: Orange, Violet, Pink
Watercolour brushes 2 or 3 varying size. One larger for washes, two smaller for details. (I can try to give you exact size numbers if that’s best).
Ink
A bottle of black ink from your collection would be great. We can also recommend a few other colours as required once the class starts going.
Basic brushes for ink only
Student’s choice of fine tipped pens.
Paper
Quality watercolour block, 110lb, around 8”x10”
Less expensive standard watercolor sketchbook for block for experimentation & tests
Basic sketchbook with thicker paper for wet medium
Other tools
Pencil, eraser and sharpener
Watercolour palette
Water receptacle
Preferably, a kit to hold all your materials.
