Drawing is a fundamental and foundational for any creative approach to making art. The basics of drawing creatively will be explored through using the elements and principles of design. The subject matter will include magnification of natural objects, still life, portraiture, perspective, landscape, and figure drawing. A variety of drawing media will be used for experimentation. Drawing techniques such as gesture, contour, and shading will be used to develop concepts that can lead to multi-dimensional artistic practices.
