Acrylic&Mixed Media II w/ M. Jones
March 14 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 1:00 pm on Thursday, repeating until March 28, 2024
This class runs from February 29th – March 28th, Thursday afternoons from 1:00 – 4:00pm (5 classes). If this class is full, you may phone us at 306 653 1900 to add your name to a wait list.
This class is for anyone struggling to kick their acrylic painting practice into high gear by throwing caution to the wind. Don’t worry, we won’t be leaping totally unprepared into the void without a safety net. We will begin with some specific exercises on paper, to help build your confidence and clarify your understanding of composition, contrast and colour harmony. These key elements help to provide clear parameters enabling you to springboard into a world of possibility.
After our initial ‘warm up’ projects, students are free to work with their preferred substrate and materials. I highly recommend birch panels because of their portability and versatility. I have also recommended a variety of tools and materials which may help to free up your inner artist. This includes collage materials, stencils, palette knives, shop towels, scrapers, atomizers and brushes of various shapes and sizes.
