Overview

Learn to create portraits that capture more than a likeness. In this class you'll develop the observation skills and understanding of facial structure needed to create expressive, convincing portraits while maintaining your own artistic voice. Students may work in the medium of their choice using photographic references and live models.

Meet Your Instructor

Carol Wylie has maintained an active portrait and figurative art practice for more than 30 years. She holds an MFA from the Vermont College of Fine Arts and teaches portrait drawing and painting with an emphasis on careful observation, strong fundamentals and individual artistic expression.
