Made in France by Clairefontaine, Pastelmat is a premium pastel surface with a unique velvety texture that offers exceptional pigment adhesion without the abrasiveness of traditional sanded papers. Its innovative cellulose-based coating grips pastel particles securely while allowing smooth blending, precise detail and rich layers of colour.

Pastelmat is particularly valued for its ability to accept multiple layers of pastel without quickly becoming saturated. Its soft yet durable surface allows artists to build depth, develop subtle transitions and create both delicate marks and bold painterly effects.
