A new concept for the Pastel market! The pastel adheres so well to this new paper that you don’t need to use a fixative between each layer. You are able to multiply the layers without a saturation effect. Pastelmat brings new opportunities for pastel artists, offering a coarser surface than velour but a softer surface than sand paper. These pads contain 12 sheets of Pastelmat card, including 3 sheets each of Anthracite, Brown, Sienna, and White.

Mineral paper is similar to traditional wood based paper but it is made with calcium carbonate from rocks rather than tree pulp and is considered to be an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional wood based papers. Composed of 80% calcium carbonate bonded together with a small amount of HDPE (plastic), this gives the paper some very unique properties. Tear and water resistant. Will not bleed through even when soaked.
