Figurative Drawing & Painting – Carol Wylie Thursday Evenings

The human figure is one of the most challenging and rewarding subjects. In this class you will draw from a live clothed or nude model, learn some basic anatomy and develop more accurate observational skills to help strengthen your rendering of the figure. Development of a personal style will be discussed. If painting: ground choices, colour mixing, and paint application will also be discussed, in addition to the drawing elements.
Carol Wylie is a figurative and portrait painter whose studio practice includes drawing and painting. She holds a BFA from the University of Saskatchewan and an MFA from the Vermont College of Fine Arts.She works in Learning and Engagement for Remai Modern Art Gallery of Saskatchewan and teaches drawing and painting classes for the University of Saskatchewan Certificate of Art and Design program. Carol was artist in residence at the Canadian Light Source synchrotron in 2007, where she created the triptych“First Light”, which was installed overlooking the synchrotron. Carol was also a finalist in the 2015 Kingston Portrait Prize.
